About Me.
Hi, my name is Caitlin. I am a UX, Web, and Brand Designer with 2+ years of experience. I am fiercely committed to creating conscious designs that put user experience and the human experience at the forefront.

I have had a keen eye for design ever since I was young. In highschool, I spent my summers learning about color theory, feng shui, and design thinking principles while working alongside my mother at her interior design company. In school, I studied psychology because of my innate desire to uncover the secrets behind why humans behave in the way that they do. I am continually drawn to the UX/UI field because it allows me to live within my passion, furthering my expertise and knowledge of both psychology and design.
I started my early professional career as the Creative Director for Animal Safe Migration, a small non-profit operating out of Austin, TX. There, I honed my leadership skills, practiced the art of tenacity, and learned how to be resilient and adaptable in a fast paced dynamic environment. I launched the Animal Safe Migration website, and built their brand identity. During my time at Animal Safe Migration, I ran the social media page, managed our website, blog, and fundraising efforts. In this position I continued to update our SEO for optimal engagement, designed fundraising posters, merchandise, and maintained all external ASM partnerships including regular work with Dimensional Fund. Not only did I help build ASM from the ground up, but I also created an entire community of individuals who cared about the earth and who would come clean up the Colorado River in Austin on their weekends. As our local clean-up events grew, I hired staff, organized volunteers, and was eventually able to step away from ASM to dive deeper in the human experience.
I ended up really understanding the scope of the human experience through the lens of design. As a freelance Graphic Designer I have fallen in love with Figma, mastered the Adobe suite, and gotten really good at balancing multiple projects. I have been fortunate enough in this position to work with many brilliant clients, working on a wide array of projects spanning infographics, logos, restaurant menus, brand identities, and responsive websites.
I have had my finger on the pulse of design since 2016. Over the past two years I have taken UX/UI courses to further my design knowledge. With that greater depth I have been able to apply more of my learnings from psychology to design. It is fascinating to see how the two are so intertwined. Most recently, I completed courses from The California Institute of The Arts, and a UX Design Professional Certificate from Google’s Coursera program.
When I am not designing I enjoy spending time outdoors with friends and family.
During the winter you can find me doing backcountry snowboarding loops with my dog, hiking to hot springs, or drinking a cup of peppermint tea with a good book. The rest of the year I am usually hiking, swimming, playing guitar around the campfire, and soaking up as much sunshine as I can.
Thank you for your time!
